Kulkompaniet Isefjord Spitsbergen

The company was founded the 15th of May, 1900, by Mr Schrøder and Mr Zachariassen with investors from Norway.
Mr Schrøder was intended to act on behalf of the company, but he sometimes gave the impression of being the unique owner. He wasn’t taken very seriously, neither by the Americans, nor others because of his behaviour. Mr Schrøder was present (according to his own statements) and guarding the properties of Kulkompaniet Isefjord Spitsbergen, but their areas seemed to be annected by other companies all the same. In 1920, the 3rd of March, AS Isefjord Kulkompani ended their business. The 18th of January 1922 the company transferred their legal rights on Spitsbergen to NV van der Eb en Dresselhuys’ Scheepvaart Maatschappij from Rotterdam. The company was sold on to Trust Arktikugol in 1932.
